A revisit to this photograph has me consider the relatively calm weather
conditions at the time the shot was taken, while the state of Florida this
past week had been impacted through landfall by tropical storm Fay four
times. The first time such an event has occurred in recorded history.
Winds had only been recorded below hurricane status, but the tides had
been a foot or more above normal conditions with wave heights that would
be envious to surfers and certainly devastating to the nesting tern colony
which had completely vanished naturally by very early August 2008.

Perfect timing.
